Our History
From a Chemical Plant to a Fortune Global 500 Steelmaker
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Pingshan County, Hebei Province — the cradle of China’s revolutionary history — Jingye Group has grown from a small chemical plant into a Fortune Global 500 enterprise and one of the world’s leading steel producers. What began with a single production line now spans seven major steel bases across China, serving customers in more than 130 countries and regions.

Jingye operates an integrated production network built on seven major steelmaking bases across China. Every base is developed to the same benchmark of modern, intelligent, green manufacturing: garden-style factories, emissions far below China’s ultra-low emission limits, and end-to-end digital quality control.
Jingye Steel (Headquarters)

The Group’s flagship integrated base covering ironmaking, steelmaking and rolling, producing wide & heavy plates, hot-rolled coils, rebar, wire rods and cold-rolled & coated products.
Jingye (Yingkou) Medium Plate Co., Ltd.
- Yingkou, Liaoning
A leading world-class medium/heavy plate producer; combined with the Group’s other plate lines it forms the world’s largest medium-plate manufacturing system, supplying about 1.8 million tonnes of ship plate annually.
Ulanhot Iron and Steel
- Ulanhot, Inner Mongolia
A key bar and wire-rod base whose capacity grew from 0.5 to 2 million tonnes within six years.
Guangdong Jingye Steel

Serves the South China market and radiates into Southeast Asia.

World-Class Technology, Intelligent Manufacturing
From ironmaking to finishing, Jingye’s production lines combine the industry’s most advanced technology with intelligent, data-driven process control. Our medium & heavy plate facilities — anchored by a 5,000 mm SMS plate mill with one of the highest rolling forces in the world — set the benchmark for Chinese steel producers, supported by dedicated heat-treatment plants and CNAS-accredited testing laboratories that safeguard consistency from molten steel to finished product.
- Ironmaking & Sintering
- 1,500 m³ blast furnaces at the headquarters with ceramic-cup hearth bottoms, top-pressure equalization & recovery, refined blast-furnace gas desulfurization and hot-blast stove flue-gas desulfurization
- Three 2,300 m³-plus blast furnaces and the world's largest and most advanced 600 m² sinter machine at the Yingkou base
- Two large modern fully-enclosed stockyards at Yingkou (430,000 m² in total), among the most automated raw-material yards in China
- Oxygen-enriched, high-coal-ratio injection, thick-layer sintering technology and mechanized stockyards
- Digital & Intelligent Steelmaking
- KR hot-metal desulfurization pretreatment and 150 t top-and-bottom combined-blown converters with sub-lance systems at the headquarters
- Five converters at the Yingkou base — one 170 t and four 120 t top-and-bottom combined-blown units
- LF ladle refining furnaces and RH vacuum degassing furnaces
- Continuous casters with electromagnetic stirring and soft reduction, including 475 mm direct-arc slab casters and double-flow slab casters; the No. 2 slab caster at Yingkou produces the world's thickest slab cross-section of 475 × 2,400 mm
- World-Class Medium & Heavy Plate Rolling
- Seven plate production lines: one 5,000 mm wide & heavy plate line fully engineered with SMS group technology (one of the highest rolling forces worldwide), three 3,800 mm lines (the widest and most modern in China), two 3,000 mm medium plate lines and one 2,800 mm medium plate line
- Three high-speed wire rod lines with advanced single-strand torsion-free, fully continuous rolling (manufactured by SMS group)
- Controlled rolling and controlled cooling (TMCP) processes for high-performance plates
- Bars, Wire Rods & Cold Rolling
- Bar lines using advanced slit rolling technology
- Cold-rolling complex (2.6 Mt/a): pickling & tandem mill, continuous rolling mill, hot-dip galvanizing line, hot-dip galvalume line and color-coating line, running under integrated process automation
- Green & Smart Facilities
- 145 MW ultra-supercritical gas-fired power unit and waste-heat/TRT power generation — 60%+ of electricity self-generated
- Zero-liquid-discharge water treatment (36,000 t/day) and five circular-economy loops covering gas, steam, slag, industrial water and dust recovery
- Dedicated railway line supporting green logistics
- Intelligent master control rooms with MES, big-data platforms and industrial robots
- Advanced Testing & Inspection
- Scanning electron microscopes, impact testing machines and high-temperature tensile testing machines
