FAQ
We are the mill. Jingye Steel is a Fortune Global 500 steel producer, ranked No. 306 in the 2026 list, with seven production bases and around 40,000 employees. Your material is rolled on our own lines, and the contract is signed with our own international trading arm. There is no middleman between you and the mill, which is why we can confirm a specification, hold a delivery date and answer a technical question without passing it down a chain.
Jingye Steel is headquartered in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and runs seven production bases in China: Headquarters Steel in Pingshan, Shijiazhuang; Yingkou Medium Plate in Liaoning; Hebei Huaxi Special Steel; Ulanhot Iron and Steel in Inner Mongolia; Guangdong Jingye Steel and Guangdong Yuebei United Steel in Guangdong; and Jiangsu Jingye Steel in Lianyungang. Steel capacity exceeds 40 million tonnes a year, and which base makes your order depends on the product. We confirm the plant for your order at quotation stage, because the size range and the lead time differ between them.
We export to more than 130 countries and hold offices or branches in 32. Our core export markets are Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South America and Oceania, with South Asia growing quickly. Tell us your destination port and product, and we will confirm shipping options and any local market-access requirement in the quotation.
Yes, and we would rather you did. Send us your dates and we will arrange the visit, a walk-through of the relevant production line, and a meeting with the technical team. If travel is not practical, we can run a live video tour of the exact line that would make your order.
Our product range covers GB, ASTM, EN, JIS, KS, AS/NZS, API, and classification society rules. For rebar, we regularly supply to ASTM A615/A706, BS 4449, AS/NZS 4671, KS D3504, and SS560. For plate, we produce to ASTM A36/A283/A572/A588, EN 10025, JIS G3101/G3106, API 2H/2W/2Y, and shipbuilding rules. Cold-rolled and wire rod grades include JIS G3141, GB/T 5213, SAE 1008/1010, SWRH, ER70S-6, etc. If you require CSA or another niche standard, we will review your specification and confirm feasibility before quoting.
Yes. We issue an MTC for each heat/batch, showing the heat number, chemical composition, mechanical properties—yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, and impact values where applicable—execution standard, and delivery condition. An EN 10204 3.1 or equivalent certificate can be provided, subject to product and order. Our CNAS-accredited laboratory supports chemical, mechanical, and metallographic testing. Third-party inspection can also be arranged on request. Each coil or plate can carry a QR-coded digital traceability label.
For standard grades, production usually takes 15–30 days after order confirmation; customized or heat-treated plates may take 30–45 days or longer. Ocean transit depends on destination. We operate multiple production bases and a dedicated railway line, and can arrange multimodal transport. We back delivery with our 5×100% service guarantee, including 100% on-time delivery. A detailed schedule is confirmed at order.
It depends on the product line. Cold-rolled series — cold-rolled, galvanized, galvalume and colour-coated coil — starts at 100 tonnes per specification; medium and heavy plate from 50 tonnes; and wire rod at 300 tonnes per specification. Rebar carries no minimum on Chinese GB grades, while overseas-standard grades require 300 tonnes per specification, and the small diameters, 9.5 mm and 10 mm, have to be consolidated to 1,500 tonnes.
There is a practical reason behind every minimum: a heat and a rolling campaign have to be worth starting. That said, for a first order we will look at a trial quantity on stock grades — tell us what you need and we will be straight with you about what is possible.
We use export-standard packaging. Rebar and wire rod are strapped in bundles; plates are edge-protected and strapped. Cold-rolled, galvanized, and color-coated coils use premium packaging such as JYBZ-15/JYBZ-16: rust-proof paper, galvanized guards, plastic film, corrugated board, steel strapping, and fumigated wooden pallets where required. We can provide loading photos and take waterproof measures.
Standard export documents include commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, mill test certificate, and certificate of origin (Form E, Form A, RCEP, etc., as applicable). MSDS and third-party inspection reports can be provided if required. We ensure consistency among invoice, packing list, B/L, and MTC. Our team can also support customs value or origin queries with production and shipment records.
Steel is priced off the current market, not off a list. A quotation reflects the base price at the time of issue plus any premium for grade, width, tolerance, coating weight and quantity, and it is issued FOB, CFR or CIF as you prefer. Because raw material and freight move, quotations are firm for a limited window, and we state the validity date in writing on every one. If you need price certainty over a longer period, ask about a fixed-price contract or an index-linked formula.
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. For distributors we work on repeat programmes rather than one-off cargoes: agreed monthly or quarterly tonnage, a reserved position in the rolling schedule, consistent packing, and a nominated account manager who knows your specifications. We would rather hold a modest tonnage for a reliable partner every month than sell the same tonnes spot.
Yes. Custom supply is a stated part of how we position our plate business. We sign a technical agreement that fixes the composition window, the test parameters, the delivery condition and, if you want it, the marking stamped on the plate. Production then runs to that agreement. Send the drawing or specification sheet and our engineers will come back with what is achievable and what tooling or trial runs it involves.
