Product Overview

Carbon steel plate, also called mild steel plate or structural steel plate, is the most widely used hot-rolled plate in general construction and fabrication. Jingye supplies Q235B, Q235C, Q235D, SS400, SS490, S235JR, S275JR, A36, A283 Gr.C, SM400A/B/C, A572 Gr.50 and A573 Gr.70 in thicknesses from 6 mm to 200 mm.

Plates are rolled on 3000 mm and 3800 mm mills with tight thickness tolerance and controlled flatness. Ultrasonic testing is guaranteed up to 40 mm thickness and mechanical properties are guaranteed up to 100 mm, making the product suitable for structural nodes, pressure-part supports and general engineering.

  • Ultrasonic testing guaranteed up to 40 mm thickness.
  • Customised chemistry, delivery condition and product marking available under technical agreement.

Applications

  • Buildings, factories and general structures.
  • Bridges, machinery and pressure-part supports.
  • Shipbuilding substructure and storage tanks.

Delivery, Testing and Quality

Plates are rolled on 3000 mm and 3800 mm mills with a combined annual capacity of 6 million tonnes. Delivery conditions include as-rolled (AR), controlled rolling (CR), normalising (N), normalising rolling (NR), thermo-mechanical controlled processing (TMCP) and quenching and tempering (Q+T). Ultrasonic testing is available to GB/T 2970 (classes I to III), EN 10160 and ASTM A578, and through-thickness properties to Z15, Z25 and Z35 can be specified to GB/T 5313 and EN 10164. Hull structural plates are approved by CCS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, NK, KR, RINA and RS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is carbon steel plate the same as mild steel plate?

Yes. In trade both terms refer to low-carbon structural plate such as Q235B, SS400 or A36. We list the product as Carbon Steel Plate and also target the mild steel plate search term.

What is the maximum thickness you can supply?

Up to 200 mm for most carbon grades. Thickness above 100 mm is subject to technical review, and mechanical properties are guaranteed up to 100 mm.

Can you supply cut-to-length, bevelled or painted plate?

Yes. Cutting, bevelling and painting can be arranged, and the additional cost is confirmed before order acceptance.
