Product Overview
Galvanized steel coil, also called GI coil or hot-dip galvanized coil, is cold rolled steel coated with a layer of zinc for corrosion protection. The zinc provides both barrier protection and sacrificial protection at cut edges and scratches. Jingye supplies DX51D+Z, DX52D+Z, DX53D+Z, DC54D+Z, DC56D+Z, SGCC, SGCD1, CS-A and CS-B, together with structural grades S220GD to S550GD+Z.
Coils are produced on a 1450 mm hot-dip galvanizing line with uniform spangle and strong coating adhesion. Thickness ranges from 0.35 mm to 2.5 mm, width from 914 mm to 1285 mm, and zinc coating from 50 to 275 grams per square metre.

Available Dimensions and Coating
Thickness 0.35 to 2.5 mm; width 914 to 1285 mm; zinc coating 50 to 275 g per square metre total on both sides. The coating mass is stated in the designation, so Z275 indicates 275 grams per square metre in total.
Coil weight: orders with width below 1150 mm are accepted on 17 tonne mother coils. For width above 1150 mm, galvanized, galvalume, pre-painted and continuously annealed cold rolled products can be ordered on 17 tonne or 22 tonne mother coils, while batch annealed products are accepted on 22 tonne mother coils only.

Delivery, Testing and Quality
Cold rolled and coated products are produced by Hebei Jingye High-Quality Steel Technology on a 1450 mm line. The project totals 2.6 million tonnes of annual capacity across two phases and includes a pickling tandem mill, continuous annealing and batch annealing lines, three hot-dip galvanising lines, a hot-dip aluminium-zinc line and colour coating lines. Products are manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does GI mean?
GI stands for galvanized iron and in modern trade means galvanized steel. GI coil is hot-dip galvanized steel coil.
Which zinc coating should I choose?
For mild outdoor exposure 60 to 120 grams per square metre is common, and for aggressive coastal or industrial environments 180 to 275 grams per square metre is recommended.
What does Z275 mean?
Z denotes zinc coating and 275 is the total coating mass of 275 grams per square metre on both sides combined.
