Product Overview
Galvalume steel coil, also called GL coil or aluminium-zinc coil, is coated with an aluminium-zinc alloy in which the aluminium forms a barrier against moisture and pollutants while the zinc provides sacrificial protection at cut edges and scratches. The standard coating composition is 55 percent aluminium, 43.4 percent zinc and 1.6 percent silicon.
Jingye supplies DX51D+AZ, DX52D+AZ, DX53D+AZ, SGLCC, CS-A and CS-B, together with structural grades S220GD to S550GD+AZ. Thickness ranges from 0.38 mm to 2.5 mm and coating from 50 to 180 grams per square metre.

| DX51D+AZ, DX52D+AZ, DX53D+AZ | EN 10346 | European coating grades |
| SGLCC | JIS G3321 | Japanese aluminium-zinc coated grade |
| CS-A, CS-B | ASTM A792 | US aluminium-zinc coated grades |
| S220GD to S550GD+AZ | EN 10346 | Structural grades |
Available Dimensions and Coating
Thickness 0.38 to 2.5 mm; width 914 to 1285 mm; aluminium-zinc coating 50 to 180 grams per square metre total on both sides. The coating mass is stated in the designation, so AZ150 indicates 150 grams per square metre in total.
Coil weight: orders with width below 1150 mm are accepted on 17 tonne mother coils. For width above 1150 mm, galvanized, galvalume, pre-painted and continuously annealed cold rolled products can be ordered on 17 tonne or 22 tonne mother coils, while batch annealed products are accepted on 22 tonne mother coils only.
Key Features
- Aluminium barrier combined with zinc sacrificial protection at cut edges.
- Approximately two to four times the corrosion life of galvanized steel at an equal coating weight.
- Better heat reflectivity and heat resistance than galvanized steel.
- Smooth surface without spangle, giving an attractive finish.
Applications
- Roofing, wall cladding and purlins.
- Ducting, silos and appliance housings.
- Coastal and industrial environments.
Delivery, Testing and Quality
Cold rolled and coated products are produced by Hebei Jingye High-Quality Steel Technology on a 1450 mm line. The project totals 2.6 million tonnes of annual capacity across two phases and includes a pickling tandem mill, continuous annealing and batch annealing lines, three hot-dip galvanising lines, a hot-dip aluminium-zinc line and colour coating lines. Products are manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Frequently Asked Questions
Galvalume or galvanized, which should I choose?
Galvalume generally gives a longer corrosion life and better heat resistance, while galvanized is usually lower in cost. Galvalume is preferred where service life matters, and both are available from Jingye.
What does AZ150 mean?
AZ denotes aluminium-zinc coating and 150 is the total coating mass of 150 grams per square metre on both sides combined.
Is Galvalume suitable for coastal areas?
It resists corrosion better than galvanized steel, but in strong marine chloride exposure a heavier coating or an additional protective system is recommended.
